Ali is an interventional cardiologist working at North Shore Hospital. His private work is through the Cardiology Institute, a North Shore-based private practice with satellite clinics in Greenlane and Howick.

Ali is actively involved in interventional cardiology research at WDHB and a supervisor for interventional cardiology trainees.
